If you wait long enough

Somewhere between now
And the end of forever,
There’s a place
Where we are again together.

Where I’ll see your beautiful smile,
Just like I remember,
And never again
Will we be afraid of the “never”.

Please just wait long enough,
And I’ll find you there.
There’s still way too much
For us yet to share.

Here, I still half-expect you in the next room
To call me to the window to look at the moon.
And I try to speak to your ghost,
But its answers seem to get lost.

So I let you be the wind in my hair,
And the sun on my face, and the bird’s song,
And I never feel alone
Because I’ve felt your presence all along.

And I will love you
Till the end of my days,
And then,
I will love you again.
